Rotaractors support Cancer Research Festival
18th June 2010
Members from the group helped organise and participated in a a fundraising event for Cancer Research. It was a festival that ran from 30th April to 2nd May 2010 in the Derryvale Inn, located in Derrynoose, County Armagh. It was a fun packed weekend with many festivities.
There was a Buck n' Bronco, Tug O'War, Bouncy Castles, The Biggest Culchie, Queen and Stag of the Noose Competitions, and an all day BBQ. Entertainment was second to none, lasting to the wee hours of the morning. With Star appearances of 'No Strings Attached' 'Flash Point' and 'White Ice.'
There was a ladies tractor drive which was a scene that will live in the memories of those who saw the parade.
At the event there was a cow clapping competition with a roar when the cow laid her plot on square 65, crying roars from the locals lads who had their legs waxed with a smooth finish.
There was nearly £3000 raised over the weekend which was greatly appreciated for such a worthy cause. The event was a minor part of the fundraising for the charity. Some of the members proceeded to take part in a 24 hour relay walk in Loughall Park, Armagh. The overall events raised over £25,000. Many thanks to all who supported us.
